SBM’S BENEVOLENT FUND:
Over the last several months, there has been an increase in
one-on-one ministry through SBM. This has been made possible through the tax
deductible gifts of those who give to SBM's Benevolent
Fund.
People from around the country – and other nations - have been flying in to
Connecticut and we have been ministering to them personally.
For those who cannot afford it, SBM has paid for many individuals' travel expenses, food, as well as provided these individuals and families with numerous resources (many cannot afford them.) Those who need to attend SBM’s Weekend Conferences and cannot afford the minimal fee are invited free, with SBM covering most of the expenses.
SBM has given numerous churches and organizations in special
need ENTIRE complete SBM Libraries of Resources, valued at over $1,000.00 –
absolutely FREE. This includes of all of SBM’s resources: books, videos, CDs,
DVDs, discipleship programs and much more.
Here are just a few examples of how the SBM Benevolent Funds are used:
Thousands of dollars in tracts and CDs are provided for
SBM’s West Hollywood Weekly Outreach to homosexuals outside of the “gay bars”
on Santa Monica Boulevard. A man who just left the homosexual lifestyle flew in
to Connecticut in May to be ministered to one on one. A mother and son (6th
grade who wants to be a girl) flew in to CT in June. A 70 year old woman was
married to a homosexual (she didn’t know) and the husband raped their own son. He
became a homosexual, got infected with AIDS and died at 35 years old. She has a
heart for the homosexual today, and on a fixed income, did not know how she
could minister. SBM purchased her a brand new computer and printer (from Walmart) and now she ministers to
many by e-mail. We are currently ministering to a transsexual – in conjunction
with another couple - who is ripe for Christ. Over 100 evangelistic CDs, 1,000
tracts and several SBM Libraries have been provided to Campus Crusade for
Christ.
$1,000.00 was given to the Thomas Family Children’s Fund – a fellow Missionary
from Texas who lost his 39 year old wife to cancer. A special trust fund has
been set up for their 10 children who have been left now without a mother.
This is what SBM does FULL TIME - EVERY DAY AND NIGHT – besides ministering by
telephone NON-STOP.
A lesbian just called recently after breaking up with her girlfriend for
several years - and wants to LEAVE the homosexual lifestyle. She called at
10:30 pm (the phones are forwarded to SBM’s Emergency After
Hours Line.) SBM is now PERSONALLY helping her.
Finally, the most tragic of all, one of SBM's faithful supporters over the
years and fellow ministers, Pastor Rusty Thomas of Waco, Texas, father of 10
children, just lost his 39 year old wife Liz to cancer in August 2005.
Rusty Thomas – a champion for the unborn, along with many others, walked across
America this year - from California to Washington, DC - witnessing to many - especially homosexual men and women - passing out
SBM's tracts "I Was Gay." SBM provided 3,500 of these at no charge.
Again, SBM’s Partners sent a $1,000.00 Love Gift to the Thomas Family Children’s
Fund in August 2005.
